Cathodyne – Optical Cathodoluminescence

Simplified cathodoluminescence using an optical microscope

A fast and sensitive optical CL imaging system that uses a plasma source and doesn’t need a SEM to work.

  • Newtec Scientific Cathodyne optical cathodoluminescence

    Key Features

    • Excellent stability - Control of plasma from 2kV to 22kV and 25µA to 800µA
    • Automatic shooting - Over a surface 69mm x 39mm
    • Spectrometric measurements - Semi-quantitative and quantitative
    • Extreme spatial resolution - <1µm
    • Heating and/or cooling stag - Optional

A fast and sensitive optical cathodoluminescence (CL) imaging system that uses a plasma source and doesn’t need a SEM to work.

The Cathodyne optical cathodoluminescence system can be used to identify and quantify, at the
microscopic or macroscopic scale, point defects and impurities responsible for the luminescence properties of materials bombarded by an electron beam.

Applications

The fields of application include:

  • Microelectronics
  • Semiconductor
  • Materials
  • Insulators
  • Geology and mineralogy
