Exum was founded in 2017 by Jeffrey Williams. Jeffrey was frustrated by the shortcomings and complications associated with traditional mass spectrometry and related techniques. As a result, he left academia and pioneered LALI technology, which enables a truly user-friendly, intuitive interface overcoming the issues with conventional techniques and instruments.  

Several years down the track, Jeffrey has successfully secured seed and Series A funding and surrounded himself with a team of talented individuals based in Denver, CO and Albuquerque, NM. The team has advanced the Massbox from LALI basic principles to a commercial instrument offering scientists and engineers a simplified technique for the analysis of solid samples.
